In 2009 a ground-breaking exhibition transformed the top floor gallery at Tate Liverpool into a space for encounter and collaboration, imagination and invention, marking the end of Liverpool's year as European Capital of Culture.

Using conversation as a starting point, Jessie Blindell and Ailie Rutherford worked collaboratively to create a programme of community-led events exploring different processes of social exchange, underpinned by ideas drawn from individuals and groups around the city. The modular social space (designed by International Festival) was appropriated by each group differently according to how they chose to use the space.
